A three-vehicle crash Wednesday sent three people to hospitals and shut down a Torrance intersection for two hours, police said.

The crash occurred about 1:10 p.m. at 182nd Street and Hawthorne Boulevard, Torrance police Sgt. Jeremiah Hart said.

The driver and passenger in one car were taken to County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. They suffered minor injuries.

A second passenger, however, suffered major injuries and was reported in serious condition.
Police are investigating what happened.
