Hermosa Beach victim identified
A woman found dead on the rooftop balcony of a Hermosa Beach home was identified Saturday as a 20-year-old Los Angeles woman.
Alena Helen Masteruk was discovered about noon Wednesday at a male friend's residence in the 300 block of Ocean View Avenue, the coroner's office said.
Masteruk had arrived at the residence about 3 a.m. that day. He found her lifeless body later. He called 911. Firefighters pronounced her dead at the scene.
Coroner's Lt. Brian Elias said a cause of death is deferred, pending results of toxicology tests.
