The El Segundo Police Officers Association is looking for families in their city to help for the holidays.

Police Officer Chris Cameron, vice president of the association, said officers are hoping to help a family facing tough times, perhaps parents who have been laid off from work and cannot afford holiday gifts for their children.

"We did this probably five or six years ago," Cameron said. "We were able to make a difference to them."

Police are looking for one to three families that can be assisted in some way.

"Families who need it the most," Cameron said. "I think everybody knows somebody."

Families who wish to apply or people who want to suggest someone else should e-mail Cameron at ccameron@elsegundo.org.
