Police have closed off the area near Pacific Avenue and 62nd Street in Playa del Rey, where a man with a gun is sitting slumped over on a jetty.

The man was noticed about 4:30 p.m. and has not responded to shouts from officers, police said.

They do not know if he is dead or alive.

Officers have called for a special weapons team to handle the call.
