A Torrance police investigation into counterfeit merchandise took officers to a location in the 1700 block of San Pedro Street in Los Angeles, where they served a search warrant on Monday and found more than 500 purses, handbags and wallets, Torrance police Sgt. Steven Jenkinson said.

Demba Camara, 37, was arrested on suspicion of possession of counterfeit merchandise.

Torrance police community lead officers, sheriff's deputies and federal agents with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement department conducted the investigation.
