Parolee arrested in El Segundo burglary at The Lakes

denniswladyka.jpgPolice have a arrested a parolee on suspicion of breaking into The Lakes Golf Court pro shop in El Segundo.

Dennis Eugene Wladyka, 53, of El Segundo was taken into custody on Sept. 4 in connection with the 1 a.m. crime at 400 S. Sepulveda Blvd., police said.

Officers responding to an audible burglary alarm discovered a smashed window at the pro shop.

A short time later, officers stopped a bicyclist on El Segundo Boulevard and Nash Street. The bicyclist was identified as Wladyka, who was carrying 116 boxes new golf balls.

Wladyka, who was on active parole following a burglary sentence was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property and identity theft.

Detectives investigating the burglary asked that anyone with information about the crime or similar crimes to contact them. Police are interested in speaking with anyone who might have previously purchased golf equipment from Wladyka, believing it was legitimate.
