BREAKING NEWS: 2 passengers dead, driver critical in Gardena crash

Double Fatality Traffic Collision
On Saturday October 1st, 2011 at approximately 5:48 AM, Officers from the Gardena Police Department responded to a call of a traffic collision with injuries at the intersection of Ardath Ave and Rosecrans Ave.
On arrival officers found one vehicle, a 1993 green Ford Explorer turned on its side in the roadway. After a preliminary investigation, officers learned that the Ford was traveling westbound in the number three lane of Rosecrans Ave when the Ford collided into a tree.
There were three male Hispanic adult occupants in the Ford. The front seat passenger and rear passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver received multiple broken bones from the collision and was transported to a local hospital where he is currently in critical condition. The identity of all three occupants is being held until verified and the next of kin are notified.
The collision is in its early stages of investigation and is being investigated by the Gardena Police Departments Traffic Bureau. Anyone that may have information regarding this collision is encouraged to call the traffic detail.
Rosecrans Ave from Van Ness Ave to Crenshaw Blvd was closed at 5:48 A.M. to facilitate this fatal collision investigation. The roadway will remain closed for several hours until the completion of this investigation.
