About Brent Hopkins
I cover the other stuff, the stories that don't quite fall into any beat. One day, it's a car crash, the next it's shots fired, the next it's kids trying to get out of the gang lifestyle. And, sometimes, falling back in. I've been a reporter here at the paper since 2000, covering toy tycoons, wrestling babe tryouts, Elvis impersonators, cops and criminals. They're all interesting in their own way.

I read the story you did on Mr. Tovar.
I remember talking to college and high school kids a few years ago while incarcerated. I Dont know if it made a difference in any of their lives but 1 life saved is enough I guess.
Is there any place I can go to try and talk to kids in the street lifestyle?
Let me know...if not, its ok. Thank you.
