About Rick Coca
I cover the "night-time" cops' beat -- which means I cover whatever happens after every body else leaves for the day. This should be an interesting experience. The thing about crime is it's completely fascinating -- as long as it's not happening to you. I think that's why learning about it appeals to so many people. We're reminded of our own vulnerability, our own mortality. We could be next. We could be next. l'll try to remember that.

Good evening Rick, I'd like to say thanks for writing the article on my baby brother Kevin Lopez. Sorry it took me a while to write to you but I didn't have a acomputer. It's been 4 months and it still feels like yesterday when I received the phone call that Kevin was shot. I really miss him a lot and it bugs me that the shooter is still out there. Again thanks for the article, and I hope that someone steps up and goes to the police.-Antonio Lopez Jr.
