Once again, Mr. Tong's got some crime news out of Glendale. Police are on the lookout for 21-year-old Ara Grigoryan, who's a person of interest in the hit-and-run that killed 24-year-old Elizabeth Sandoval earlier this week. A man matching the description of Grigoryan, a Glendale resident, was seen driving the black Mercedes S430 sedan with a California license plate of O7TT77 that killed Sandoval on Glendale Avenue near Windsor Road at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. The car's registered to Grigoryan's relatives and he's been cited for seven traffic violations in the past two years, including failure to yield to pedestrians and speeding.

The story goes onto say that Glendale PD's tried to get Mercedes-Benz to help by activating the vehicle's global positioning system, but have been twice rebuffed. Anyone with any information can call the Glendale Police Department at (818) 548-4840. They can also call the Glendale Crime Stoppers anonymous hotline at (818) 507-7867.

UPDATED: Saturday, 7:23 p.m.

(Eugene, intrepid reporter that he is, filed this Saturday evening, his day off)
GLENDALE _ Police located the Mercedes Benz sedan that struck down a 24-year-old woman earlier this week, while the hunt continued Saturday for a man believed to be involved in the fatal hit-and-run.
The black four-door S430 sedan with a California license plate of O7TT777 was found parked in Van Nuys after the car’s tracking system was activated, Glendale Police Department spokesman John Balian said.
Police said the driver of the luxury car stuck Elizabeth Sandoval at highway speed as she crossed Glendale Avenue near Windsor Road Tuesday night. After the car knocked her 75 feet down the street, the driver fled the scene.
On Friday, police complained an attorney for the German automaker had refused comply with a court order to activate the car’s global positioning system. But the device’s Texas-based manufacturer contacted the Los Angeles Police Department with a location Saturday, Balian said.
Authorities were looking for Ara Grigoryan, 21, of Glendale, a “person of interest” who matches witness descriptions of the man behind the wheel. The car is registered to one of Grigoryan’s relatives, but he has been cited for seven traffic violations over two years while driving the car, including failure to yield to pedestrians and three cases of speeding.
