Prison stripe changes in store for adult and juvenile offenders

Some big changes in how and where juvenile and adult California prisoners do their time. For the kiddies, the California legislature just passed a bill that would largely eliminate the current system and have all but the most violent juvenile offenders dealt with locally.

The Los Angeles Times has a story about how the state is dealing with its overpopulated adult prison population by shipping inmates out of state to private prisons, much to the chagrin of the state's prison guard union.
