Christmas Eve attack thwarted by quick-thinking son

A man armed with a pistol went to the Reseda home of his ex-wife on Christmas Eve, burst through the door, got into a fight with the woman's 18-year-old son when the gun went off. The man was tackled and detained until police arrived and took him into custody. It was a Christmas story that could have ended very badly for the 46-year-old woman and a 9-month-old boy who she held in her arms, police said. Police arrested Manual T. Gonzalez, a construction worker from Reseda on kidnapping, domestic violence, and assault with a deadly weapon charges, police said.
