Police blotter
Police reported a burglar trying to get into a house Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in the 5400 block of Whitsett Avenue in North Hollywood. The victim was asleep inside the apartment when the suspect pried open the front door and woke the victim. The suspect then fled the location and no property was taken.
A shooting was reported Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the 13000 block of Vaughn Street in San Fernando. A group of five to six black males were standing outside their residence drinking when a vehicle pulled up in front. Someone inside the vehicle fired five rounds from a pistol at the group, wounding two. The suspect never said anything to the victims before the shooting. One victim was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was treated for a wound to the back. The second victim was treated at Pacifica Hospital for a wound to his ankle and was set to be released.
