Police arrested a 27-year-old construction worker in connection with the attempted killing of another worker in Tujunga last week.
Detectives suspect Jesse William Overstreet and another man invited the victim over to a Tujunga residence, where they stabbed him more than a dozen times in his neck and back after a night of drinking.
Police were called out to the 8500 block of Wentworth Street about 9:30 p.m. April 10, where they found the victim covered in blood lying in the front yard, said Lt. Peter Durham, head of the Foothill Division gang unit.
Apparently the 31-year-old construction worker had fled from the two men before he collapsed in the yard. The other suspect has not been arrested.
Police are investigating a possible gang connection.
