Terror on the streets; cops to report suspicious terror activity

The new head of the LAPD's counter-terrorism has a cost-efficient plan to have police fill out forms if they see potential terroris-related activity, a method that could be replicated nationwide, cbs2.com. Commander Joan T. McNamara revised the investigative report that officers must fill out for crimes, real or suspected, adding a section where they can describe in detail possible terror plots. Cops are also required to fill out these forms if they see suspicious activity, even if a crime wasn't committed. McNamara uses a 65-item checklist to evaluate suspicious activity.
