Overnight notes about significant crimes in the Valley ...


  • A petty theft was reported at 1:20 p.m. in the 7600 block of Hayvenhurst Ave. Three suspects entered a business and stole property. The suspects also inquired at a nearby medical testing lab about employment opportunities.

  • A robbery was reported on Sept. 7 at 5 p.m. at 5500 Elmer Ave. The suspect entered the open apartment door, pointed a blue steel semi-automatic handgun at the victim and demanded money. The suspect exited and moments later returned with a second suspect. Together the suspects searched the victim's residence. The suspects fled with the victim's property. In fear, the victim delayed in reporting the incident.

  • A shooting was reported last night at 5:45 at 6100 Cahuenga Blvd. Officers responded to a "415 Man with a Gun" radio call. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Two handguns were recovered from inside the suspect vehicle. Officers interviewed all four victims and determined that an ADW with a Gun had occurred. The suspect was positively identified by the victims and booked for assault with a deadly weapon. The suspect was treated for pain to his right wrist.
