Pausing the budget ax at L.A. City Hall

Ken Jeffries talks with veteran Daily News City Hall reporter Rick Orlov, who says the Council has put off a decision on laying off the first thousand of 15-hundred workers as well as reviewing whether police and fire should be included in the cuts.

Meantime, several city officials say they want to call on voters to approve tax hikes to raise more money for the city, which is facing a 200-million dollar shortfall this year.
