Fortune cookie

In my cookie after a Chinese lunch in Rancho Cucamonga, this fortune was found:

"You are an adventurer, traveling on the highway of life."

If so, I'm traveling in the slow lane. Either that, or I'm stopped on the side of the highway of life, waiting for AAA. How about you?

I've traveled the highway of life.

Sometimes in the slow lanes competing with the metaphorical truckers.

Sometimes speeding along at a good clip on the lookout for the next traffic tie-up.

Sometimes in the HOV lane with a companion.

These days I seem to be sitting in a parking lot somewhere wondering what the next destination should be.

No need for the AAA. Whatever has slowed me down is up to me to fix.

No complaints. It's all good.

I ate at a Chinese place in Rancho last week, and my fortune was something like "You will find pleasures by the seashore." I haven't been near the water in some time, so maybe that's why the economy has been off so much, or gas prices so high, or now the winds and fires so bad.

[Never too late to visit the seashore, Will. -- DA]
