There are a series of columns I always do at year's end, and one of them is a countdown of the Inland Valley's Top 10 strange news stories. I just can't believe the our favorite water commissioner, Xavier Alvarez, didn't make the cut. I was sure that he had provided you with a lot more "material" than some of those that you included. Charo . . . Alvarez . . . Charo . . . Alvarez ????
At least Pomona didn't lose your attention completely. Just sorry the column didn't include the suggested promise of quotes.
[The quotes are a separate feature to run any day now. Tuesday, perhaps? As for Alvarez, he was more of a 2007 story -- that's when the Medal of Honor thing came to light. He didn't do much in '08 except shave. -- DA]

Were you aware that KFI AM640 picked up your story? I heard a brief re-cap of the "Inland Empire Top 10 Weird News Stories" during the 1 o'clock news break. They didn't credit you specifically, but they did get the name of the paper correct!
Never mind...I just read your other blog post. Over the years, with the advent of computers, I have trained myself to always read from the bottom. Oh well, congrats just the same!
