Dollar dogs in La Verne

| | Comments (2) |

Somebody told me recently that the exemplary Corner Butcher Shop in La Verne (2359 Foothill) sometimes offers $1 hot dogs as a special. Days later, from another source, a coupon for same was forwarded to me. You can find it, and print it, by clicking here. You can also read more about the shop here.

GREETINGS:
I am both happy and sorry to see your mention of the dollar hot dog event at the Corner Butcher Shop. Happy because they certainly deserve the attention and the business. I've been there a couple of times, including once on DHD-Day. The friendly, helpful staff are patient and willing to spend time explaining what they have -- it is, after all, a true butcher shop. And the hot dogs are outstanding; these dollar events have to be the best bargain in Southern California.

Of course, I'm sad because now the line will be sooo much longer and the seating area jam-packed for these events. It's like discovering an unknown treasure of a restaurant and then returning to find it's become the hot "new" place in town.

My advice -- Go, enjoy, and please be nice to everyone else waiting with you in line. No matter how long it takes, it's worth the wait!

[I suspect this blog doesn't have enough readers to appreciably alter the Corner Butcher Shop dynamics. But at least one extra person, yours truly, expects to be in line. -- DA]

We just had lunch at the Corner Butcher Shop this weekend -- it was amazing. They've got a zillion kinds of sausage and can serve up a mean sausage sandwich, plus they make a great deli sandwich as well.

And, of course, if you're lookin' for meat, they got it, up to and including beef kidneys. I believe that they are planning some sort of one-year anniversary party this weekend, but I don't remember the details.

I'm so happy these folks are around!
