Congrats on the above-the-fold! Also: compliments on the column’s last line too. You tied in Cucamonga, Jack Benny, and with your last words brought it all home with the “gravy train” dig. Making it look easy is the hardest part of the job (I expect).

CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is quite an accomplishment. I have had a busy day and haven’t read the papers yet. Now that I have some peace and quiet, I look forward to seeing it.

(I do have to ask. How many copies do you have?)

[One. But I'll grab a second. -- DA]

Very well done article. It wasn’t terribly funny, but it should sure raise some hackles around both Ontario and Pomona.

    Good job!

    [Thank you, sir. -- DA]

Seeing your picture on page 1 gave me quite a fright. I thought for a moment that you had “left us” and the DB was giving you a final honor of a front-page obit.

Needless to say, I was very relieved to see that it was your column and you are OK. The relief turned somewhat to dismay at the perk of luxury boxes for Ontario’s bigwigs. Now, a day or two later, I really don’t care. My hackles are calm and lying low.

Since the DB gave you such an honor, I just may have to forgive the powers-that-be for replacing the usual Sunday crossword with the difficult LA Times version.

Congratulations. I’m glad you’re still with us.

Really enjoyed the article, but Ontario is starting to sound a lot like Atlanta. Same “let’s get what we can get” attitude, just bigger in Atlanta.
