Stop (maybe)

What's really cool is that the stores don't seem to have signs on them either (well, off in the distance they do, and we're looking at the side of the building, not the front, but still). It's like some weird post-apocalyptic world where signs have disappeared but luckily plants and cars still exist.

Well, I realize that state and local budgets are strained to the max, but no money to finish a stop sign?

Seriously, to me that sign indicates a "watch this space" kinda thing, but folks like you and me will be forced to stop anyway and scratch our heads while wondering what we're supposed to do.

I would have stopped and probably some yahoo behind me would be honking his horn because I did. Ya just can't win.

[The sign is within that "Little Foothill Boulevard" auxiliary road that separates a retail and business park from the main road. The "Stop" seems to have been painted over but it's unclear if it was done by vandals or someone official ... and what a motorist is supposed to do. -- DA]

If I didn't have your word for it, David, I'd say Photoshopped. In a symbol-laden world, a red octagon just screams STOP. But have you checked for any hidden Candid Cameras? C.
