Batmobile in Pomona!
As seen in Wednesday's column, or on TV for that matter: the Batmobile from the 1960s TV series, now in a limited engagement in Pomona. FYI, the trim that looks yellow is just a trick of the light or the camera: It's all bright orange. Below are photos of the interior.
"No, Batman's not here, Commissioner. He took his cape to Frantz Cleaners. May I take a message?"

If memory serves me correctly (always a sketchy proposition at best), I got to spend a few moments in proximity to the Batmobile in 1973 or '74, when the legendary vehicle made an appearance at a car show at the late, great Idora Park in Youngstown, Ohio.
Of course, *I* didn't get to climb behind the wheel, nor did I get to interact with any famous writer/bloggers -- just a coupla guys in masks & spandex (which, now that I think about it, may explain a few of those mid-70s nightmares ... but I digress).
Thanks for the quick drive down memory lane, & congrats on living out the dream of so many who came of age during the "day-glo Batman" era.
The question is how much would you pay to get behind the wheel of the Batmobile and get your picture taken? I would pay a lot!

My favorite shot is the last one, your arm casualy slung over the bat steering wheel, as if to say, "Oh yeah, I'm constantly taking calls on the bat phone in the Batmobile." Kapow! Bam! Biff! Splat!

Batmobile? BFD! We shook the gloved hand of Mister Adam West, in full Bat-regalia, at the grand reopening of the Indian Hill Mall. That was sometime in the early eighties, before Mister West was elected Mayor of Quahog, Rhode Island.

I always thought this was the best Batmobile, created at the height of the Kustom Kar Kulture. Now it looks both very retro, which is appropriate given the Batman's age, and very cheesy, since it was made to look good at old TV resolution as opposed to that of modern digital cameras.
As for BFD!, that usage is an oxymoron, unless your understanding of the acronym is different from mine. Verbally, my crowd used a yawn for emphasis.
That is a 'glass repop of the Batmobile I believe....notice that the steering wheel is not the original (the original was from a '58 Edsel) and a few other things are not correct as well.
