    In Old Country when we boys got colds our mothers went to pond to catch the fish. She bring fish home and take out the livers. She mashed liver up and fed to us by spoon.

    Most of time in Old Country boys don’t tell mothers about having cold.

    My Mom always reccomends hot lemonade with bourbon and honey for a cold. As she says, if it works, great. If not, you don’t care.

    My recommendation — any decent chicken noodle soup with the addition of several heaping tablespoons of pico de gallo, heavy on the jalapenos.

    Sorry about the cold. As far as chicken soup is concerned, Albertsons Chunky Chicken Noodle Soup is quite good. As for the medicinal benefits of it, I heard on the car radio that the ingredient in chicken soup that does the trick is the salt in the broth.

    [All I had around the house was a can of organic tomato and basil. It wasn't chicken soup, but it was pretty good. -- DA]
