My KPCC-FM interview

| | Comments (2) |

My interview with KPCC-FM's Alex Cohen about Inland Valley dining was bumped Friday for bigger news, in this case, Daryl Gates' death. Well, being in the news biz, I know how that goes. The Pasadena-based station (89.3) did, however, post the interview online. You can access it here. Focusing on local restaurants heavy on character, I talk about Ramon's Cactus Patch and Vince's Spaghetti, both in Ontario, and Centro Basco in Chino.

GREETINGS:
Outstanding job! I was bummed because I was busy Friday and didn't get to hear your interview; now to find out it got bumped (ah, fame is fleeting) but survives on the KPCC Web site is both sad and happy news.

You did a terrific job of selecting the "big three" to mention. Ramon's, Vince's and Centro Basco are the ones I suggest to newcomers/visitors who want to get a real taste of the area's "character" through its traditional eateries. In fact, I did mention them to a group of students this past weekend who asked about the "special" places to dine locally.

Congrats on a great interview. Thanks to the Internet, the cutting room floor isn't necessarily the final resting place of your budding audio career!

A childhood friend of mine is a producer for KPCC (or she was, last time I spoke with her, which was back in 2003). I could, you know, see what pull I have and do a little arm-twisting to get this on the air.

I listened online and enjoyed it... and yay, Centro Basco!
