'Define the 909'

| | Comments (2) |

Videographer and artist Eddie Gonzalez, who runs the 909 Junkie website (www.909junkie.com), is filming people offering one-word definitions of the Inland Empire. His goal is to eventually have 909 of them. Click here for the video so far. I didn't count the number of people as they flashed past, but the video indicates he has "777 to go."

Yours truly is represented by video shot at Claremont's Some Crust Bakery.

Oh, and Gonzalez sells T-shirts.

Boy... Hard to sum up the place where you live, work, and went to school (Redlands counts as the 909, right?) in one word. I'd go with "home," but that sounds kind of corny. I need one word that says, "While I'm aware that this region, like all places, has its problems, and is commonly mocked by L.A.-based morning radio disk jockeys, I have no complaints about living here. In fact, I like it!"

I'll keep looking for that one word.

[Notice that some people used two or three, in clear violation of the ground rules. Thirty-five, however, is probably pushing it. -- DA]

Oh, meant to add: I really dig Gonzalez's "The Inland Empire" Empire-Strikes-Back-style T.

[I agree, but I lean toward the James Bond-style shirts. -- DA]
