I have been a comics reader since I was about 4 or 5 years old; first liked Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Hulk, Super Friends, etc. I became more of a Marvel reader and collector (Punisher, Spiderman, Silver Surfer, Capt. America, Iron Man, Wolverine, X-titles, Star Wars, etc.) over the years. I stopped collecting about 15 years ago, but I occasionally pick up a book now and then. Happy 50th birthday, Silver Age Marvel Comics!
Marvel comics were big on the (allegedly too intellectual for comics) Stanford campus in the mid-to-late 60s. I always preferred Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos to the super-hero titles. At some point in the early 70s I lost a suticase full of what-would-now-be-classic comics in a storage space/divorce/ relocation.
Steve Ditko's son is a fairly well-known graphic artist here in Phoenix.

Arggh. I bought that while on a cross-country trip with my mom to go to the 1964 World's Fair. I bought pretty much every Marvel and DC Comic . . . if only I'd hung on to them.
