Fox Theaters aren't only in Southern California. St. Louis' Fox, part of the same original chain of movie theaters, sat three times more than Pomona's (5,060 compared to 1,731). I admired the building from the outside while on vacation last week.

A full-length view of the theater without any distracting newspaper-brandishing columnists is below.

By the way, what did I miss while I was away last week?

This is pretty damn small and obscure the Chevron on Philadelphia and Euclid has 3 drive ways instead of 4. Normally wouldn't noticed this but 99% of Gas Stations in our area usually have an even number of driveways. You'll also notice that the sidewalk is unusually big compared to the rest of the street.

Actually, that's a full-height photo.

Hi David,

I'm sure you (deliberately) missed my radio program.

Skip Svoboda

[Skip is referring to his polka (!) show on KSPC-FM on Saturdays, 8 to 11 a.m. (with repeats on Sundays). -- DA]

Have you seen the sign at Heritage Park in Alta Loma (Beryl and Hillside)? Announces a combined wireless facility. Do you know anything about this?

[No, but I'll guess that means there is, or will be, a cell tower disguised there somewhere. -- DA]

Well, Friends of the Pomona Fox didn't cancel any programs that week. That's something.

[Ha ha! True. You folks are batting about .500 this year. -- DA]

Do you take the train to St. Louis from the train station in downtown Pomona? Pomona is along the same train route as St. Louis.

[A little-known fact, as the mailman on "Cheers" used to say. No, I didn't. But I did ride the St. Louis light-rail line. Familiar-sounding name: MetroLink. -- DA]

Well, the latest edition of the Aquanetta Daily Bulletin has a school board member married to a felon, but the marriage was never disclosed. I have a feeling everybody in Upland is cheering this new scandal on...oh wait, Aquanetta works for the City of Gracious Scandals...as Jerry would say..."Newman!"

Hi David,

Thanks for the nice plug.

Another thing you "missed" is that KSPC is at 88.7 on the dial.
