Column: One dream meeting, one dreamy meeting in Upland

Wednesday’s column (read it here) is about Monday’s Upland City Council meeting. It’s also about a dream I had about an Upland City Council meeting. It’s sort of about two meetings, except one didn’t happen. So as council meeting columns go, it’s a little unusual. Let me know what you think.

Hmmm.. I think your dream was empathic. I think you felt Mr. Musser’s embarrassment. “Ha ha nu pod” was funny, but I do think it’s embarrassing to get names wrong. I think he was mortified on the dais, then mortified again in the paper. I don’t think he understood that it was supposed to be good-natured ribbing. Maybe names are a sore spot with him?

And, no, I don’t (nor do Alana or Patrick) see you as some bald guy with a notepad who mumbles unintelligibly. I do think you’re very shy, though. 🙂

Still, how unsettling this was! I’m sending a friendly hug. 🙂

“And they all pretend they’re orphans and their memory’s like a train
You can see it getting smaller as it pulls away
And the things you can’t remember tell the things you can’t forget
That history puts a saint in every dream”
