Jury duty

My number came up and so I’m headed to Pomona Superior Court this morning to do my civic duty. Wish me luck!

* Update: I’m returning to the courthouse Tuesday but will post something here anyway.

Good luck. If your experience is anything like mine, at least you’ll have a good opportunity to get ahead on your reading. Of all the times I’ve been called, never been empaneled. Just sat all day in the juror’s assembly room with a good book in hand.

I would have thought you’d be disqualified as a member of the fourth estate. Here’s a tip if you get tired of waiting around — raise your hand and when you are called on, ask if the state allows hanging. Your jury day will be over.

Hello there, simply was alert to your weblog thru Google, and located that it is really informative. I am gonna watch out for brussels. I will appreciate in case you proceed this in future. Many other people might be benefited out of your writing. Cheers!

“public relations” writes a comment which is indecipherable? Go figure.

Let me know if you spot any brussels (sprouts).

    Love ‘em.

[I just deleted 24 spam comments from overnight, but I guess I'll leave that one up since you've remarked upon it. I don't get the "brussels" part either but the Google "translate this page" button is a likely culprit, or a thesaurus. I get a lot of almost identical spam comments whose wording seems to devolve amusingly from message to message. Ones that compliment me on my "paintings" rather than my "postings" are especially fun. -- DA]
