Ho-ho-ho’s from 2012’s last council meeting

Sunday’s column recounts highlights of last week’s Ontario council meeting, which offered (mostly) intentional humor from Paul Vincent Avila. Also, a look at the special collection holdings of the Honnold /Mudd Library in Claremont and a few short items from around the valley.

Another great column, David. I did not know about the Carey McWilliams — my favorite historian/author — collection at Honnold. Which perhaps has to do with the fact that as an elementary school student in Claremont, my contact with Honnold was limited to going into the stacks to find the “Dictionary of Slang” so I could read all the “dirty” words included therein. Hard to believe that at that age, we could just walk into a great college library with no questions asked. I wonder if they admit unaccompanied children today?
