TGIF! Week of wild news almost over

Christopher Dorner, Pope Benedict and the State of the Union made for a news-packed week. I josh about all the parts that seemed joshable to me — your mileage may vary — in Friday’s slightly edgy column.

    When I saw the first news story about the young couple that was killed, along with the information identifying her father as the first Chinese American to receive the rank of Captain in the LAPD, I said to my spouse, “It was either someone who has a grudge against her father or an ex-lover.” Then, when I saw the story last week about Dorner’s manifesto, chills went through my body. I do not care that they did not bring him in alive. He is where he should be now. I mourn for the four victims of that certfiable, “Mad Man”.
