Column: Go walkin’ through Norma Tanega art exhibit

Norma Tanega, 80, is a longtime Claremont resident and musician (“Walkin’ My Cat Named Dog,” etc.). Her art is the subject of a Claremont Heritage exhibit that opens Saturday. I sat down with Tanega, a true original, for an amusing, awkward interview. That’s my Friday column.

Your experience makes me think back to the restaurant lunches I used to have with a particular former colleague. I would talk and she would sit in silence until I thought of something else to say. At lease your subject would speak in quotes and smile.
