Column: Three chairs for Maloof furniture exhibits!

Exhibits at two adjacent museums in downtown Ontario are devoted to the work of the late woodworker, and they’re free to view. Also, the final (?) word on La Verne’s old Tastee Freez, readers share stories of their missing socks and keys, a genteel author event is coming to Pomona and yours truly is out sick. Read all about it in Friday’s column.

I sat on the Sam Maloof rocker at the Getty about 12 years ago–it was the most comfortable chair I have ever sat on. (I don’t know if it is the same chair that “travels” or if there are more than one displayed at various museums.)

I sat on one at the Huntington in, I think, 2012, and it was probably the most comfortable chair I’ve ever sat in, even if I only sat for a minute or less, there being others who wanted the same experience. Alas, the Ontario chairs are display only.
