Four months after my own visit to Mexico City (or Distrito Federal, as it's known), reader Elizabeth Casian went there herself. And while there, the Pomona resident found not one but two Pomonas. Heck, i didn't even find one.

The first was a street sign (at night, where it didn't photograph well), and the other was this stained glass image of the Goddess Pomona in the castle in Chapultepec Park, finished in 1865. The name confirms it, even though it's facing outward: "Pomone."

Two Pomonas while on vacation? Casian must have felt right at home.

Pat and Joel Wiese of Alta Loma took a 12-day cruise of the British Isles, but only one day was required to find both a Pomona Cafe and a Victoria Gardens, both conveniently located on Kirkwall, one of Scotland's Orkney Islands.

"I don't know if you've been to EPCOT before," reader Will Plunkett asks, "but there was a garden in the Canada section of the park, titled 'Victoria Gardens.' This is totally a rip-off of the Rancho shopping location, I'm sure, as I can't think of a single way the name Victoria relates to Canada at all." Tongue further in cheek, the Rancho Cucamonga resident adds: "And no Abercrombie & Fitch store or Sbarro there, either."

(I have been to EPCOT, actually, but that was years before our Victoria Gardens opened.)

Pomona, the necktie. Dig the "educated doodles."

If you don't like that, try the Inglewood or the Costa Mesa.

The photo is too large and blurry to post, being shot from a moving vehicle, so trust me on this: A road sign in Switzerland -- shot by former Upland resident Brian Hunt -- shows distances to Chur, Sargans, Buchs and “San Bernardino, 117 km.”

Was Hunt motorvating on Switzerland’s answer to Route 66? I don’t know, but the Swiss version of San Bernardino is a mountainous village that serves as an entry point to the San Bernardino tunnel.

Nice to know there are Spanish place names in Switzerland, as well as a touch of the Inland Empire.
