Planners: thumbs down on Ponte Vista

| | Comments (0)

Los Angeles city planners have issued a resounding "no" to building 1,950 homes on former Navy property on Western Avenue in San Pedro.

The staff recommendation will go to the city's Planning Commission which is scheduled to rule on the Ponte Vista project at a Dec. 11 meeting.

Staffers indicate fewer homes might be acceptable -- between 775 and 886, about the same number of homes in the Gardens condominium project. But even that isn't guaranteed approval.

Next move: Developer Bob Bisno.
