***Update: Scientists now say tonight's quake measured 4.7.

A magnitude-5.0 quake hit at 8:39 p.m., about 1 mile east of Lennox, near Inglewood, according to a preliminary report by the U.S. Geological Survey. At least two aftershocks shook the area minutes later.

***Locally: No major injuries or damage reported so far. KCAL Channel 9, however, is reporting some damage to the AMC theater at the Galleria in Redondo Beach where movie goers said the screen began to peel. Someone reportedly was cut on some glass at the Starbucks at Hawthorne and Artesia boulevards and taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance.  Some area supermarkets had broken bottles in the aisles. Hawthorne FD was called out to a light pole that was either down or 'leaning' in the 13900 block Chadron Ave.

Burglar alarms were set off in El Segundo where a burn-off also was triggered at the Chevron refinery.

Everyone OK out there?
