UPDATE: Firefighters douse Madrona Avenue blaze in Torrance

| | Comments (0)
Firefighters doused a 2- to 3-acre brush fire that burned Monday near the ExxonMobil refinery in Torrance.

The fire broke out about 2:20 p.m. off Madrona Avenue near Del Amo Boulevard, Torrance fire Capt. Steve Deuel said.

Firefighters and members of county camp crews, along with refinery firefighters, put out the blaze in about two hours.

No structures were threatened, and there was no threat to horses in stables on the 21-acre parcel.

The cause was not immediately known, but workers were clearing weeds and brush at the time.
