Fallece Gene Upshaw, 65, grande de la NFL
Gene Upshaw, quién jugo todos los 15 años de su carrera para los Raiders de Oakland, ha fallecido debido a un cáncer al páncreas. El jugador del Salón de la fama tenía 65 años de edad.
Upshaw jugaba de guardia y ganó dos Super Bowls. También fue elegido al primer equipo de la NFL en cinco temporadas y estuvo en siete Pro Bowls.
Después de su retiro en 1981, Upshaw no se desvinculó de la liga. En vez, se convirtió en director ejecutivo de la Asociación de Jugadores en 1983. Guió a la liga en la huelga de 1987 y en 1993 ayuda a conseguir el límite salarial y agencia libre.
