Desde Alemania, Landon Donovan sigue rompiendo récords en los Estados Unidos.
El delantero del L.A. Galaxy, quien está en Alemania provándose en el Bayern Munich, ganó el premio de jugador del año de la MLS por quinta vez - un récord del fútbol profesional de Estados Unidos.
Donovan también ganó el premio Honda en el 2002, 2003, 2004 y 2007. El delantero de 26 años fue el líder en anotaciones (20) de la liga jugando al lado de David Beckham.
Donovan quiere una oportunidad para jugar en Europa a pesar de que ya en el pasado lo intentó y regresó a casa sin éxito. Nunca jugó en un partido del 1999-01 cuando estaba con el Bayern Leverkusen. En el 2005, el Leverkusen una vez más le dio una chance, pero, en siete juegos en la Bundesliga, Donovan no logró anotar un solo gol.
Donovan también apareció en dos partidos en la Liga de Campeones, pero jugó mal. Poco después, regresó a Los Angeles, con el Galaxy.
