Fun Date Nights for Under $5!

| | Comments (0)

This economy has everyone looking for ways to have a great date night on the cheap--and according to SUCCESS magazine, a date with your significant other doesn't have to cost more than $5!  Try one of these five date ideas for less:

1. Go to a karaoke night. Karaoke can be seriously entertaining and most of the time it's free. Sing off tune and pocket the $5 or splurge on a couple of iced teas.

2. Walk with a purpose. Try a hike that ends with a great view or maybe take a long stroll through a park. See what conversations come up. Doesn't cost a penny. You may even find a penny on your walk.

3. Bake a cake, cookies or your favorite recipe. See what you can make with ingredients already in your home. Have a flour fight. Use the $5 to buy a missing ingredient.

4. Grab a pint of Ben & Jerry's and watch your favorite television program. Cuddle up as you share the Cherry Garcia and the remote control. Let the viewing commence. Four dollars for the ice cream.

5. Gaze at the heavens. Check SkyandTelescope.com for celestial happenings by week, such as meteor showers or planetary alignments. Make some hot chocolate, grab a couple of lawn chairs, a blanket and binoculars. Look up. Funny how gazing into infinite space helps put your own world into perspective.
