Keeping the garbage disposal smelling sweet:

When it starts to smell cut up an orange or lemon and put it down the disposal.

If you don't want to waste fruit on the disposal, in an ice tray mix water with one half cup white vinegar and freeze - then once a week grind them up down the drain.
