Free breakfast offer slams local Denny’s

The 8-hour free Grand Slam offer had dozens of people lining up outside local Denny’s from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

Daily Bulletin photojournalist Mediha Fejzagic DiMartino (no, I don’t know how to pronounce her name either) detailed the scene in the West Valley, with her report on the stores in Rancho Cucamonga and Pomona.

You can read Mediha’s story here.

She’s also got pictures of the mad houses in Claremont and Rancho Cucamonga here.

In the East Valley, Redlands Daily Facts reporter Megan McClain (now, that one I can pronounce) visited the Denny’s in on Alabama Street in Redlands and chatted with some of the 70 or so people in line there.

You can read Megan’s article here.

Were you one of the estimated-up-to-2-million people that lined up at a local Denny’s to get a free Grand Slam?

I was not.

I left for work a little early this morning, drove past the Palm Avenue restaurant here in San Bernardino, saw the line wrapping around the building, and kept on driving. There’s no way I was waiting two hours for a $4 breakfast.

If they were giving them away all day, I would have thought about coming back at 10 p.m. and waiting, but before work? No.

If you waited, where and how long did you wait? Let us know by commenting below…
