Free pancakes! Free pancakes! Free pancakes!
Apparently not wanting to be upstaged by Denny's and their free Grand Slam giveaway earlier this month, International House of Pancakes is giving away free pancakes on Tuesday (February 24).
From 7 a.m. 'til 10 p.m., you can go to IHOP and get a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes, just for the asking.
All they ask in return is that you consider donating money to support children's hospitals via Children's Miracle Network or a local charity.
Eat fluffy IHOP pancakes and help out a worthy cause at the same time? Sounds like an excellent deal to me!

Great idea for the children...however too bad they could not come up with a gimmic of their own. I guess if someone copies you or your idea it is a compliment of sorts.
Reader Bob:
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flapjackery...or something like that.
John, you might want to check your facts.
IHOP has been doing National Pancake Day since 2006.
They have held annually it on Fat Tuesday each year and have raised over 3 Million Dollars for the Children's Miracle Network.
Denny's free pancakes were simply a PR stunt trying to steal IHOP's thunder.
The only people benefiting from Denny's shameless promotion was themselves and the 2million people who ate their card board pancakes.
Rob:
You're absolutely right...each year since 2006 the amount raised for Children's Miracle Network via IHOP's National Pancake Day campaign has risen by leaps and bounds. In 2006, more than $340,000 was raised; in 2007, over $625,000; and in 2008, $875,000-plus. This year, over $1,300,000 was raised, likely due to residual publicity surrounding Denny's giveaway, so let's not beat 'em up too badly. And yes, I think IHOP's pancakes are better than Denny's, too, but when it's 1 a.m. and the nearest 24-hour IHOP is 30 miles away, guess where I'm going to eat.
