OK, since there are two companies producing Girl Scout Cookies, there are naturally two sets of recipes using said cookies.
The San Gorgonio Council of Girl Scouts, which covers most of the Inland Empire, gets their cookies from ABC Bakers.
And really, you don’t want to mix them up.
You don’t want to mistakenly use Caramel deLites in your Samoas Sweet Potatoes recipes. Or do you?
Let’s compare: According to the Little Brownie Bakers Web site, Samoas are “Tender vanilla cookies, covered in caramel, rolled in toasted coconut, and striped with a rich, chocolaty coating.”
The ABC Bakers site contains this description for Caramel deLites: “Delicate vanilla cookies drenched in caramel, sprinkled in toasted coconut and laced with cocoa stripes.”
Sounds pretty much the same to me.
Ditto for Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs, Trefoil/Shortbread cookies and Do-Si-Dos/Peanut Butter Sandwich cookies.
One can sigh a breath of relief, however.
Thin Mints are Thin Mints wherever you live.
So feel free to make substitutions for your local Girl Scout Cookie varieties in the recipes using the above cookies and weep in despair for the exclusives not carried by your local Girl Scouts Council.

And for those of you who skimmed over the comments on the previous entry, NotionsCapital blogger Mike Licht has compiled even more recipes here. Thanks, Mike!
