It’s the beginning of the work week. You’ve had a great weekend, but it’s back to the grind.
You long for a little pick-me-up to help start your week, but what to do?
Head to McDonald’s.
You read correctly…McDonald’s.
That’s because, beginning today and continuing every Monday until August 3, you can get a free sample of either an iced or hot McCaf Mocha.
They are indeed samples, with the iced Mocha being 7 ounces and the hot Mocha being 8 ounces.
But, hey…what do you want for free?
The samples are being given out from 7 a.m .to 7 p.m. at participating locations.
For more information, follow this link and click on the Free Mocha Mondays link toward the bottom of the page.
And if you take advantage of this deal, you have my friend Dave to thank, since he’s the one who tipped me off.
Oh thank heaven! Today is July 11 aka 7/11 aka 7-Eleven Day.
What does that mean to you? It means that you can go down to your local 7-Eleven store and get a free 7.11 ounce Slurpee.
It’s also the 82nd anniversary of that ubiquitous convenience store.
7-Eleven estimates that they’ll give away nearly 5 million Slurpees today.
Wow…that’s one giant brain freeze.
In addition, between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. (CST), you’ll be able to enter an online contest to win one of 711 $50 Live Nation concert cash prizes, using a code available on the free Slurpee cups.
Also, anyone entering the contest will receive a code and a link to purchase $7.11 lawn seats at select Live Nation venues and shows.
As an added bonus, several Inland Empire stores will be hosting block parties as part of the celebration.
For all the details, follow the above links or read the official press release here.
Follow the jump to find your local block party location.

OK, this is all over the Web , but I have yet to see the source, so I’m passing this along with a grain of salt:
Participating Inland Empire and Orange County Chick-fil-A restaurants are giving away free food from 5 to 8 p.m. this week leading up to Cow Appreciation Day, which is Friday (July 10).
The local Customer Appreciation Week giveaways will go by this schedule:
Today (July 6): Free Chicken Sandwich
Tuesday (July 7): Free Spicy Chicken Sandwich
Wednesday (July 8): Free 8-piece Chicken Nuggets
Thursday (July 9): Free 3-piece Chick-n-Strips
The Cow Appreciation Day giveaway is indeed real. Click here for more info on that. You’ll get a free entre for dressing even a little bit like a cow and a free combo meal for showing up “fully dressed as a cow.”
Know for sure that the Inland Empire/OC deal is true? Please comment below.
Update: The IE/OC Customer Appreciation Week has been verified. By me. Went to the Redlands location and had a free chicken sandwich for dinner tonight, along with a small soda and my share of a large waffle fries. Total cost for the two of us…$4.49. Such a deal!
One guess as to where I’m eating dinner the rest of the week!
Our friends at Mimi’s Cafe have teamed up with the San Diego Zoo folks to offer Mimi’s diners a voucher for a free child’s (ages 3-11) admission ticket with the purchase of an adult (ages 12+) “Best Value Ticket” to the zoo.
The voucher is good whether you want to go the San Diego Zoo or the zoo’s Wild Animal Park. It’s a $26 value, which is nothing to shake a stick at.
All you have to do is eat at any of the 39 Southern California Mimi’s Cafe locations before August 31.
In addition, according to a press release, Mimi’s guests will receive a coupon toward Mimi’s Just Enough menu, good on a future visit.
And if that weren’t enough, mark your calendars now for Wednesday, August 12. That’s the day that participating Southern California Mimi’s Cafes will be donating 15% of net sales to the San Diego Zoo’s conservation efforts. You can help the zoo by printing out the flier available here and bringing it to your favorite Mimi’s on that day.
Click here to find out more about the partnership between Mimi’s Cafe and the San Diego Zoo.
Poking around Mimi’s Web site, I found a couple more things that’ll help your conservation efforts.
