Tummies ready? Here some the Girl Scout cookies!

In just a few short weeks, the annual Girl Scout cookie sale will begin.

This year, the Girl
Scouts of San Gorgonio Council
(which covers most of the Inland
Empire) are doing away with the pre-orders and just selling cookies.

Hooray for instant gratification!

This year’s cookie sale runs from January 24 through March 14.

There are two official bakers of Girl Scout cookies: ABC Bakers and Little Brownie Bakers.

The Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council gets their cookies from ABC Bakers.

The cookies they’re offering this year are:

  • Thin Mints
  • Peanut Butter Patties
  • Peanut Butter Sandwiches
  • Caramel deLites
  • Shortbread
  • Lemonades
  • Thanks-a-Lots
  • Daisy-Go-Rounds

The west end of the Inland Empire (Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, Mount Baldy, Claremont, Ontario, Montclair, Chino, Chino Hills, San Dimas and Pomona) is represented by the East Region of Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles.

The Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles will be going the traditional route, taking pre-sales from January 23 through February 5, with booth sales from February 26 through March 21.

Their cookie offerings this year are:

  • Lemon Chalet Cremes
  • Trefoils
  • Do-Si-Dos
  • Samoas
  • Dulce de Leche
  • Thank U Berry Munch
  • Tagalongs
  • Thin Mints

Their supplier is Little Brownie Bakers.

Whether you’ll be buying Samoas or Caramel deLites, Tagalongs or Peanut Butter Patties, get ready to open up your wallets and your mouths to take in this annual journey into cookie goodness!

I had never realized they sold different cookies in different areas…!

Indeed. See the things one can learn from reading Dine 909?

Five of the cookies are the same, but with different names depending on who’s producing them. However, ABC has Thanks-A-Lot, Lemonades and Daisy-Go-Rounds exclusively, while Little Brownie has Thank U Berry Munch, Lemon Chalet Cremes and Dulce de Leche exclusively.

I remember a couple of years back, I was working in Woodland Hills when cookie season rolled around and ABC had introduced Cinna-Spins, which I thought were delicious. However, Woodland Hills is in Little Brownie territory, so I had to restock when I came back home on the weekend.

My daughter had two ladies order ABC cookies and for some “STUPID” reason Michigan is no longer carrying these two. Can I order from someone out here and have them shipped to me in Michigan. I need 20 lemonades and 16 Thanks a lots? Help!!!

  • John Plessel

Perhaps one of our Dine 909ers will see your plea and help you out, but have you tried contacting either ABC Bakers or a council that sells ABC Bakers’ cookies (Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council is one)?

Also, it’s a no-no to sell Girl Scout cookies online, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find them on ebay…

    Good luck!

  • Susan

Where in the community will you all be selling the cookies? I’ve been on the lookout and haven’t seen any so far…

  • John Plessel

Sales have been ongoing for a while now. If you haven’t seen them in front of your local supermarket, you can always go to http://www.girlscoutcookies.org, enter your zip code and contact information and your local council will contact you.

Here in the Inland Empire, anything west of the 15 freeway (and some portions east of it) are in the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles council. Everything else is within the Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council.

Hurry, though…GSGLA is selling cookies through March 21. GSSGC is only selling through March 14.
