Dining Out For Life April 28

OK, so there are no participating restaurants here in the San Bernardino valley, but there are a slew of restaurants in the Palm Springs area that are participating in this year's Dining Out for Life, which is being held April 28.

The event, which is a fundraiser for various AIDS charities, is a simple one: You go out to eat and restaurants donate a portion of your bill to the charity.

Most restaurants donate 25%, but in the desert, all of the restaurants are donating at least 33% of the bill. About a fifth of them are donating a whopping 50%.

Participating restaurants include: King's Highway, Circa 59, Cipolline Osteria, Johnny Costa's Ristorante, Native Foods, Pinocchio's in the Desert and Trio Restaurant.

In Palm Springs, the funds raised will benefit Desert AIDS Project.

Hi John,

I wanted to extend my gratitude to you for writing about Dining Out for Life on your site! I work for D.A.P. and it's so heartwarming to see people taking the time on their own to spread the word out about this event. It's truly one of my favorites. Thanks again!

It's a great event for a worthy cause. I'm a little disappointed there's nothing happening with either Inland AIDS Project or Foothill AIDS Project a little closer to home, but what can you do? I hope the event is a huge success...keep up the good work!
