Redlands Five Guys is open!

It’s official!

The Redlands Five Guys Burgers and Fries, at 10600 Alabama St., Suite A, is open.

The company is usually pretty tight-lipped about store openings, sending out a tweet after a new restaurant has opened. But we did have a little heads-up on this one.

This tweet was sent out around noon today.

The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

The Redlands Five Guys joins current locations in Rancho Cucamonga, Mira Loma, Temecula and La Quinta. Five Guys has plans for locations in San Bernardino, Moreno Valley and Corona.

AJ Barile’s Chicago Pizza wins again

AJ Barile’s Chicago Pizza has done it again!

The Yucaipa restaurant has taken first place in the Western U.S. at last month’s International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas.

This is the second year in a row they’ve taken home the prize.

The winning “traditional” pizza entry this year was Paulie’s Pesto.

Dine 909 congratulates AJ Barile’s Chicago Pizza and Chef Paul Duran!

AJ Barile’s Chicago Pizza is at 32693 Yucaipa Blvd., Yucaipa.

Eat a corn dog, win $10,000 (maybe)

You may already be a “weiner.”

Wienerschnitzel, which is in the midst of celebrating its 50th anniversary, is also in the midst of giving stuff away.

More than $50,000 worth of stuff, in fact.

Stuff like $10,000, $1,000, $500, $5 in “Wiener Bucks” or a free corn dog.

Your chances of winning are about one in five.

All you have to do to try and “Cash in on a corn dog” is head to Wienerschnitzel, buy a corn dog (79 Every Darn Day), save the stick and enter the code printed on it online here.

If you’re not into corn dogs, you can still enter by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the sweepstakes office. The address and official rules are on Wienerschnitzel’s corn dog bags.

The contest runs until May 28 or until the code-printed sticks run out. Winners have until June 30 to claim their prizes.

Good luck!

Free brewed coffee or tea at Starbucks on Earth Day

Everybody loves free Starbucks, right?

All you have to do is bring a reusable mug or tumbler to your local Starbucks on Friday (April 22) and they’ll fill it with your choice of coffee or tea (hot or iced) for free!

If you don’t have a mug or tumbler (or left yours at home), you’re in luck, ’cause they’ll be 20% off regular price at Starbucks that day.

And if you’re a little short this week, just ask for your drink in a “for here” cup and Starbucks will spot ya.

In addition, if you bring in your own beverage container to a participating Starbucks any day, you’ll get 10 off your drink.

During a similar promotion last year, 1.2 million people participated. That’s 1.2 million cups that didn’t end up in landfills.

Starbucks can be found throughout the Inland Empire.

Another food truck festival headed to the Inland Empire

Tickets went on sale yesterday for what is imaginatively being called the I.E. Food Truck Fest.

Following hot on the heels of this month’s food truck festival at Don Lugo High School, the event will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 18 at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario.

They’re advertising 50 food trucks, but don’t yet have any listed on their website.

Tickets are $8 in advance from the arena itself, $12 from Ticketmaster and $10 at the door.

500 VIP tickets are also being made available, which will grant you an hour’s early admission. VIP tickets are priced at $25 from the arena and a whopping $34.25 through Ticketmaster.

Children 6 and under are free.

In addition to the food trucks, organizers are promising a skate demo provided by Active Ride Shop, live local music and DJs, a children’s activity area and giveaways.

They’re expecting 8,000 to 10,000 attendees. Wow. That’s a lot of Korean BBQ tacos!

Each month Ovitt honors a local business for their impact on making the community a better place.

A ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. today (April 19) at the candy shop, 125 W. B St.
