The worst customer service in the Inland Empire! Could not address the quality of their food because I walked out after sitting for at least 10 minutes.... watching the server refresh the drinks, deliver the check, and chat with an individual two tables down. Where they packed? Four tables had people, and one was waiting for a to-go order. Don't waste your time, I didn't
I went here on the grand opening weekend. it was somewhat busy but not full. I found the servers to be somewhat inexperienced but really friendly and attentive as soon as we walked in. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. Their speciality drink the "Cantarito" was really tasty as was their Garlic Shrimp and Ceviche. I'd definitely go back.
Jim, Vic:
My experience was a fairly positive one. They've got some things to work out, but overall I had a good meal.
Keep watching for my "First Bites" review.
I recently dinned at sal y limon and had a pleasant experience. I wasnt expecting anything this fancy and elegant to be right in the middle of a shopping center, a nice hole in the wall restaurant. food was great and great customer service. nicely portioned food and surprisingly good prices.they brought the salsa all the way to the table.
I'm definitely going back here soon.
We just went Saturday night, September 3, and loved it. They must have improved the customer service since that last post. Delicious mojitos--made right with fresh mint, not cheap mojito "flavor--were good sized and cheap (5.95!) I enjoyed my albondigas soup and chicken mole--items I can't find done well at many Mexican places. The guacamole was excellent, and my husband loved his tacos. He loved the way they grilled the fish, and I thought the same about the chicken. We will definitely be back to try more dishes, and I've got to try those mango margaritas (especially for that price!) Don't miss this spot. Our criteria was that we would only come back if it was better than our local Tio's, and it is definitely nicer and more delicious. It passed the test and we'll be back!
I'm glad to hear they've found a balance in their service...somewhere between 'pester' and 'ignore.' I've been a couple of times and enjoyed the food, but I think people should be aware that it's not your typical Mexican fare. To me, it's lighter, fresher, more...um...cosmopolitan?
According to the menu(s), their goal is to serve food reminiscent of what you'd get in Mexico City, so perhaps they've achieved that goal.
Definitely worth checking out if you want a change of pace.
I finally got my husband to go here I had been wanting to go for a while. The food and service was excellent. They have really great Shrimp dishes. I really like Sal y Limon one of my favorite restaurants to go now. The food is pretty authentic to what you would have on a beach at a resort in Mexico, their chef knows how to cook gourmet Mexican. Delicous !
Suzette:
I like Sal y Limón, although I haven't been back for a few months. I've also gotten feedback from friends and others (like yourself) who have gone and been impressed.
To me, it seems like it's a very word-of-mouth kind of place. Kind of a hidden gem.
I appreciate the fact that it's not your typical run of the mill Mexican restaurant that seem to be on every corner here in the Inland Empire. It's Mexican cuisine, but perhaps a little more refined.
